Toy review~ kinetic sand

item being reviewed~ kinetic sand
bought at toys r us for $8
can buy online in both the us and uk
kinetic sand box says "It’s more fun when it’s wacky! Feel the difference with Kinetic Sand! Pack it, pull it, shape it and love it, Kinetic Sand is so incredible you can’t put it down. It’s kinetic—meaning it sticks to itself and not to you—so it oozes, moves and melts right before your eyes. It flows through your fingers like a slow-moving liquid, but leaves your hands completely dry. Shape anything you want and use it over and over again. Kinetic Sand never dries out and is gluten free. This soft and stretchy sand cleans up easily while delivering non-stop fun!"

for ages 3 and up
So me and my daughter tried it here is our star review~
1=bad 5=great

For mess we give it a 4 out of 5 stars
(it was very easy to clean up on a table. It did indeed stick to itself, but keep away from carpets, not so easy to get out of carpets.)

For how entertaining it was we give it a 5 out of 5 stars
(It was really fun and there are many ways you can play with it. It moves when lightly playing with it but if you pack it tight it stays it's shape. You can use play dough molds but you can not pick up what you make sense it is so soft. So you could make a tall tower but forget trying to move it.)

For just looks and packaging I also give it a 5 out of 5 stars.
(This colored sand came in a plastic airtight storage container that you can actually turn in different directions to watch the sand move)

In the end I highly recommend it!!

  1. What significant differences does it have to moon sand? Is it a big difference? I have alot of moon sand and I want to know if it's worth replacing with this stuff. I love to change things up but am on a budget. Thanks for all the reviews you do, they help alot.

  2. I try to do things cheap too so its understandable....it is more expensive then moon sand (for 2lbs it was like $15) but one difference I see between the two is the moon sand holds its shape more. if u make a shape (like a castle) with kinetic you really cant move or play with it as it is very soft and will fall apart. so if you have kids who love to make things with stuff like cookie cutters id say stay with the moon sand.
