in a bowl mix baking soda with just enough water to make it like a plaster then add in some food coloring of Ur choice. Place into molds and let dry for 48 hours....(I only did 24 hours and the chalk fell apart little to eas y) note you can hide little toys in the chalk then let it be a surprise when ur kids use the chalk...You can also use vinegar and once ur kid/kids are done making art spray it with the vinegar to watch it bubble!

we used beans and rice has the filler for the bin then put 2 big magnets in there with little things that will stick to the magnets. We continued this activity by then going around the house looking for more things that a magnet will stick too and talking about why some things will NOT stick to magnets.

Great play for any kid feeling sick...In the bin we put eucalyptus rice. (we made this by dying the rice green and adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil) Then I added some vet stuff for my animal lover daughter.  note~ this is not for any baby/toddler that will try to eat the rice, eucalyptus oil is not suppose to be eaten.

recently a good friend of mines gave me a bunch of Tupperware lids, I was trying to find out what to do when my son just started stacking them in and out of a empty container over and over, seeing what ones will fit and what ones will not. Putting them in smallest to biggest then doing it the other way around, putting in all the blue lids then clear ones. Closing and opening the big containers lid. That is when it hit me, some times they just need to explore. He in this time was learning, and finding out things and happy.  I will remember this and maybe start just letting my kids explore the craft supplies before me use them.  What is ur little ones favorite craft supplies to play with?

for ages 4+ bought at toysrus on sale for $3.5 can buy online just search google for glo floam The back of the package says you can roll it, mold it, and cover it, and it glows in the dark! So we bought it sense it was on sale for cheap and we have yet to try it. Here is our review~ for looks I give a 5 out of 5 the package is nice, looks very fun for mess I give it a 3 out of 5 the blue was very sticky to hands and anything else it touched. (I did read the booklet that came with it and it says if sticky let it sit for 15 minutes, but seriously what kid is just gonna want it to sit for 15 mins before playing... either way we did and it was still sticky the whole time we played) Also if you mix colors that is it you can not get them apart again, and of course my kids loved to mix the colors. for play time I give it a 3 out of 5 My daughter played for about 20 mins before she moved on and never asked for it again....(its been about a week now) It says it glows in the dark but for us it r

First we painted the ocean then the sand and before the paint dried we sprinkled some sand on top of the paint. Once done let dry then lightly shake off the extra sand and you can now decorate the picture. Maybe add some fish or people.

This time we set up a grocery store (complete with a check out place, not in picture) and home kitchen. In the grocery store we marked everything with a price to help learn about money and counting. (you could also tea ch about colors of all the fruit and stuff.) In the kitchen and grill area we set up a small toy trash can, to help go over how important it is to clean up after making a mess "cooking", we also went over what all the tools in the kitchen are called. We did have things set up that are not in the pictures. (more food etc.) Hint for setting up something like this~ check facebook yard sale pages! I got everything (but the garden items that we reviewed) for cheap threw yard sale pages. So even though it looks like a lot I spent maybe $20 about £14 in the uk for this set up.

to color sand mix sand, few drops of food coloring, and little bit of water then lay it out to dry. Was also told you can do it with kool aid the same way add sand, kool aid pack, and little bit of water then let dry. (we did not use kool aid cause I added the sand to our sand box outside and did not want bugs)

Playing with colored ice cubes in the pool today. We made the ice cubes with only few drops of food coloring and it did not stain. Great for color mixing and just staying cool on a hot day! What do you'r kids love to play with in the pool?

Mix water, flour, and some food coloring. I found out that if you make it not so watery it works best, so I  would suggest using little bit more the half cup of flour and cup of water to make.

Today we mixed play dough with our doll house. We made shoes for the people, hay for the horses, and many more things. Easy way to bring new ideas to old toys.

(we got the plant one, tomato one, and pepper one) The plant one was $8 on sale, the other two were $6 on sale. We got them from toysrus but you can buy them online at amazon. suggested age~ 3 and up All were fun to play with. The plants come apart in pieces so you have the stem, leaves, and different parts of the flower. The peppers and tomatoes come part also so you have the leaves, stem, and different cuts of each. these are great for teaching things like~ fractions colors parts of a plant cutting vegetables (with a safety knife of course) Each set comes with storage, you lift up the dirt and the box is hollow and fits all parts inside. One thing I would suggested to look out for is the box. The corners of all three boxes where a little sharp. I actually cut my finger a little getting it out of the package. I do recommend these toys for kids! Very good for learning fine motor skills.

Lego scooping I filled a bin up with water and legos then gave my kids different tools to use to pick them up and put them in another bin. We made this a learning tool by~ asking my kids to pick up the color I called out asking them to do it with one hand then the other seeing if they can do it with their eyes closed calling out different shapes and seeing if they can find it and over all just remembering to have fun!

We first cut the B out of black paper then laid it on a piece of contact paper. Using ripped pieces of tissue paper we decorated the middle of the b's, once done we used another piece of contact paper and "closed" it together. So both sticky sides of the contact paper are together and only the smooth sides show.

I used cool to the touch christmas lights and just cut holes in the roof to place them

fun for a new outdoor sensory play to make the foam I used a big bowl then added a little bit of water and soap and used a electric hand mixer

practicing pouring and putting together different pipes. We made tunnels for cars and my kids had a lot of fun for cheap. Only warning I would give is watch small kids with the pvc pipes, don't want a arm or hand getting stuck.
