product review~ for Glitzi Globes

Price $2 us £3 uk can buy online here~in uk (or at any toysrus in the us) http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/glitzi-globes-surprise-egg/596997-1000 For ages 5 and up First I have to say for any kid who loves surpr ises this is a great toy. Each egg comes with all the things to make a little globe. In each egg you get ~glitter ~a little toy character ~some gems ~and base and a "globe" to put it all in All you do is put it together and add water. I really liked these cause you can refill them with water when the water does dry out, and you can also switch things up in them if you get more then one. There are many to collect, highly recommend for any crafty loving kid!

claiming lavender dough

Mix cornstarch (cornflour in the UK) with enough conditioner to make a dough. Kinda like moon dough...We used about 1 cup of cornstarch and about 1/3 cup of conditioner.  Then (this is optional) we added in few drop  of lavender body oil. Remember this is not edible so keep away for little babies or toddler who might try to eat it. After playing for so much time we added a few drops of food coloring and mixed to add some color to the white dough. It came out nice even without the color and made my living room smell beautiful.

paper counting jars

We used buttons to help add, subtract, and count with some easy to make paper jars.

Under the sea bottle

just take any washed bottle add water, blue food coloring, and sea animals! (make sure you glue the top closed so little hands can not open it)  We also added shells and you can also add sand. This was really cool to ta ke outside and look at it in the sun. You can also do a game of ISpy, and call out things for Ur kid/kids to find. After my kids where done playing I cut open the bottle to take everything out. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Water Works!~

Water play~ measuring, pouring, and most of all playing!! Question~ what things do you'r kid/kids like to play with in a water table?

Bedtime bin made with lavender secented rice

to make the rice mix~ dry rice with little bit of water, some purple food coloring and small amount of lavender oil. This bin is great for before bed to calm down little ones. You can add anything you want to the bin, I just tried to keep up with the bedtime theme.

Ice castles

made using sand castle molds! Easy and cheap fun idea! You could also try adding some food coloring to the water before you freeze it.

vacation day bin

This was our vacation day bin  We went to he beach for a mini vacation this year and decided to bring some (in my daughters words) treasures back home with us so we could have a closer look. We collected many different things like seashells , seaweed, rocks, and even a piece of trash. I allowed my daughter to collect this piece of trash to reconfirm to her to trash of things properly and not to litter. It was nice going threw everything with my kids over again, and taking a closer look. We will be keeping some shells and rocks for future projects so keep tuning in! Question~ what vacation did you go on this year? did ur little one/ones love it? feel free to share photos in the comments!

Colored popcorn kernels

to make add some popcorn kernels to a cup then add food coloring and water. Mix, make sure the water covers all the popcorn kernels. Let sit for few hours. (I let mine sit for about 5) Then take the kernels out and let them dry. (this took about 24 hours) Once dry they are ready to be played with, add to any sensory bin or use them by themselves in one!

Toy review~Fisher-Price Peppa Pig' Peek 'n Surprise Playhouse Playset

Bought in toysrus can buy online This was a overall great toy. Made sturdy for long time play. Me and my kids both loved that just about every item that came with this toy c hanged. The table changed from a play spot to a dinner table. The washer turned from empty to full, the top bed turned from messy to clean, same thing with the sink, oven, television and bathtub. The peppa pig little brother george toys are made from what I think is a hard plastic and can sit and stand. When you are all done playing everything fits into the house and it folds up to store every thing. My kids have so far played with this both inside and outside in the sand box and it is very easy to wipe down and clean. I highly recommend this to any peppa pig fan!

Color mixing

For this I placed cups of different color water in a bin, I used food coloring to color the water (and placed everything in a bin to make clean up easier) pouring practiced  Then I gave my kids spoons, and droppers to add the water to bowls  and a paint tray. Very nice colors!! My 4 year old really got this activity and loved trying to make new colors while my almost 3 year old just wanted to pour everything out. They both had lots of fun learning and at the end when all the water turned a deep blue we did a race to fill the cups just to add to the fun.

Sand & Seashells Bin

This was great for the time I needed to get stuff done around the house. I put some seashells in a sand bin. (most are hiding) then my kids had fun finding all of them, hiding them again and just playing. Only warning I would give is make sure no seashells are sharp before putting them in the bin.

polka dotted slime

recipe 1 pour 4oz of glue in a bowl then fill the glue bottle with warm water and dump that in, mix. Then add in some colored pom pom balls (we used white school glue but clear would be better to see the colors) in a second bowl one cup of warm water with 1 teaspoon of borax, mix very well Then slowly add the borax water into the glue water, mixing the whole time. note~you may not use all the borax water. it is also easier to mix with your hands, the more the slime is played with, the firmer and less sticky it will become. recipe 2 in a bowl pour 4 oz of school glue, then mix in 1/4 cup of water once mixed add in some colored pom pom balls Once mixed add in 1/2 cup of Liquid starch (Sta-Flo brand is great) and con. mixing. Tip~ again mixing with ur hands is way easier. once ur slime is formed you are done!

water bead filled water balloons

Before filling the water balloons put some water beads (right out of pack, not big) in the balloon, then fill the water balloon and let it sit for a hour or two.(I used a small funnel to put the beads in the balloons)

Button sorting

Learning colors and textures just by sorting buttons out in a muffin tin.

Quite play

Changing things up a little at our house. This time for quite play (quite play here is when I get stuff done like dinner, dishes, etc.) I placed toys in a indoor sand box for my kids to enjoy. It worked very well! What things do you do for ur kids when you need some time to do things around the house?

Rainbow Oobleck

to make each color mix corn starch (corn flour in UK) with just enough water to make it a liquid when picked up but a solid when touched. Then add what food color you want to use and mix.  We did a rainbow to learn the colors of one, also g reat for color mixing. what is oobleck?~ Oobleck is a classic science experiment that's perfect for entertaining both kids and adults. If you haven't seen it in action it's very fascinating stuff and before too long you'll have your hands covered with it, happily making a mess that can be washed away with water. Oobleck is a non-newtonian fluid. That is, it acts like a liquid when being poured, but like a solid when a force is acting on it. You can grab it and then it will ooze out of your hands. Make enough Oobleck and you can even walk on it! Oobleck gets its name from the Dr. Seuss book Bartholomew and the Oobleck where a gooey green substance, Oobleck, fell from the sky and wreaked havoc in the kingdom. Here the Oobleck will be m
